Use comments mode in the campaign editor

Abstract

Describes the campaign editor comments mode.

In the campaign editor, you can use comments mode to share comments and feedback about the campaign design. You can collaborate with other team members working on a newsletter by adding, replying to, and resolving comments. The number of unresolved comments that has been added on your design is shown next to the Comments button.

Add a comment to an item or a layout

You can add comments to an item or a layout. You can add multiple comments or reply to comments to create a comment thread. In your comment, you can also use @mentions to get someone's attention.

To add a comment to an item or a layout:

  1. On the top menu of the editor, click Comments. The editor switches to comments mode.

  2. In the editing area, hover your mouse over the item or layout where you want to add a comment, then click the corresponding icon.

    • Click Comments Comment_item_icon2.png to add a comment to an item.

    • Click Comments Icon_container_comment.png to add a comment to a layout.

  3. In the Add a comment field, enter your comment. To tag a team member, enter @ to display the list of team members and then select the username you want to tag, then press Enter.

  4. To post your comment, click Post_comment_icon.png.

Your comment is added to the list of comments in the left pane of the editor. The user who added the comment, the date, and the time the comment was added, are also displayed. After adding a comment, your team members get a notification that they can view in the editor. If you have tagged a team member in a comment, the team member will get an email notification that contains a direct link to the comment.

Reply to, edit, or delete a comment

To reply to, edit, or delete a comment:

  1. On the top menu of the editor, click Comments. The editor switches to comments mode.

  2. In the left pane, in the list of comments, click the comment you want to edit, delete, or reply to. The item or layout with the comment is highlighted in the editing area.

    • To reply to the original comment, click Icon_reply_comment.png.

    • To edit a comment, click Icon_edit_comment.png.

    • To delete a comment, click Icon_delete_comment.png.

Resolve a comment

After you have responded to a comment and completed all necessary work or clarifications with other team members, it is a good idea to mark the comment as resolved. Resolving a comment keeps the comment but hides it in the list in the left pane.

To resolve a comment:

  1. On the top menu of the editor, click Comments. The editor switches to comments mode.

  2. In the left pane, in the list of comments, click the comment that you want to resolve. The item or layout with the comment is highlighted in the editing area.

  3. Click Resolve below the comment to resolve a comment. The label changes to Resolved.

To display all comments, in the left pane, turn on the Include resolved switch.

To reactivate a resolved comment, click the Resolved label.

View a comment from another team member

When another team member adds a comment to a design, you receive a notification in the editor so you can directly check the comment.

To view a comment as a team member:

  1. On the top menu of the editor, click Comments. The editor switches to comments mode.

  2. Click the notification icon beside Comments. This icon becomes active when a new notification arrives. The number on the red icon displays the count of unread or unresolved comments The Comments mode in the top menu..

  3. From the list on the left pane, click the comment. You can do the following in the comment thread:

    • Mark as read

    • Resolve

    • Reply

    • Add a comment

Mark one or all comments as read

To mark one comment as read:

  1. On the top menu of the editor, click Comments. The editor switches to comments mode.

  2. In the left pane, in the list of comments, find the comment that you want to mark as read.

  3. Click Mark as read.

To mark all comments as read:

  • On the top menu of the editor, hover over Comments, then click Mark all as read. The comments counter is no longer displayed.
